Artes Mundi 3 presents recent work by nine artists who question who we are and the societies we live in. From enormous textiles and paintings to compeling photography and video installations, this stimulating and thought provoking exhibition explores different perspectives on life and art.

Deepak Ananth, lecturer, curator and co - selector for Artes Mundi 2 discusses the vibrant Indian contemporary art scene, currently the focus for many international collectors.

Mark Sealy, Director of Autograph, the Association of Black Photographers, explores the role of photography and the photographer in different societies across the world.

Contemporary Chinese art: what is happening in China and its impact on artists in the UK
Sally Lai, independent curator, traces what has been happening recently in Chinese contemporary art and suggests the impact this has had on artists in the UK.

School and educational group visits.
School and educational groups can pre-book free special workshops or group tours to explore the content and themes of Artes Mundi 3. The workshops aim to support and enrich classroom learning and help bring art into the lives of children and young people. What you’ll do:
- Explore the exhibition with an artist
- Learn about the materials and methods artists use
- Discuss cultures from around the world
- Make your own artwork to take away with you
Workshops can be adapted for all ages and Live Guides are trained to provide workshops for low vision groups and children and young people with special educational needs. Special workshops have also been devised for early years children.

For community groups, student groups, family groups, friends, arts enthusiasts, special educational needs groups and low-vision groups of over 8 people.
