Zoom Cymru

In January 2013 we worked on an intergenerational project with Zoom Cymru – a charity that provides film and media training for young people, mostly from the South Wales Valleys, and organises the International Young People’s Film Festival of Wales.

Live Guide Mair Jones and community artist Dave Evans worked with a group of fifteen young people and their families all linked to Pembrokeshire Housing Association to produce a film in response to Artes Mundi 5 shortlisted artist Phil Collins’ work ‘Free Fotolab’ 2009.

The work produced by the group explored the hidden stories behind their forgotten faded photographs and was showcased in the exhibition ‘Reflected Conclusions’ at The Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven, from October to November 2013. The project offered an excellent opportunity to share personal experiences and to reflect on memories of the past, bridging the gap between generations.
