Artes Mundi is Wales’ most exciting contemporary visual arts organisation, working with major international artists to deliver a world-class biennial exhibition and other innovative projects.   The Artes Mundi 7 Exhibition runs from 21st October to 26 February 2017.

We are recruiting for a number of temporary positions. Please see details below.

Learning and Education Leader (12 month contract, full or part time)

With a focus on formal and informal education you will be responsible for managing our professional development work with teachers, developing educational resources and supervising the LiveGuides who deliver tours and educational workshops at the Artes Mundi 7 Exhibition.  Relevant experience, knowledge of the curriculum and an understanding of the current arts and education context in Wales is essential for this position, which is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.

Community Engagement Officer (6 month contract, part time)

You will be responsible for initiating, developing and nurturing relationships between Artes Mundi and other organisations across South Wales, encouraging a wide range of people to engage with contemporary art on their own terms.  Galleries and museums can be alienating for some and you will be expected to reach outside our own comfort zone and the confining walls of the institution. The successful applicant is likely to have working experience of arts projects in disadvantaged communities. The position is funded by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Wales.

LiveGuides and LiveGuide Team Leader (6 month contracts, full or part time)

We are looking for a team of LiveGuides to act as important points of contact for audiences. The role involves answering questions from visitors, leading guided tours and facilitating specific workshops for families, schools, colleges and community groups. Applicants are likely to have fine art or similar qualifications/experience and excellent communications skills. The LiveGuide Programme is funded by the Colwinston Charitable Trust.
